The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Monday that Brandon Albert told the team he was retiring. Albert never even played a snap for the team, having been traded from the Dolphins in March for a 2018 seventh-round pick.

The 32-year-old, 9-year veteran skipped the entirety of the Jaguars’ offseason conditioning program and organized team activities, holding out for a new contract. Team general manager David Caldwell said he was holding firm on Albert’s current deal.
