Prior to the start of tonight’s Thursday Night Football game between the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers in Levi Stadium, many fans noticed a 49ers team cheerleader taking a knee during the playing of the National Anthem.

The cheerleader who has not been identified has not spoken publicly about her motives. The protest was first started by former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and was eventually joined by many players throughout the league.
This, however, is the first known protest by a cheerleader.
