Via WEEI – A few weeks ago, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy said he was buying 30,000 Roger Goodell clown towels to hand out prior to the NFL Kickoff game Sept. 7 at Gillette Stadium between the Patriots and Chiefs.
Now that Goodell returned to Gillette Stadium for the first time since Deflategate at a preseason game, Portnoy has changed his mind. He’s now ordering 70,000 towels because he wants every fan in attendance to have a towel. Goodell still plans on attending the game.
Below are a picture of the towel and a video of Portnoy explaining his reasons for now ordering 70,000 towels.
I’ll take 30k of these towels please. I’ll see you in Foxboro @nflcommish (Yes I’m serious) pic.twitter.com/Z4zfQjevbw
