The Naval Academy gave us arguably the coolest helmet design in all of college football last season, with a whole fleet of hand-painted battleships and differentiating helmets based on position. The upcoming college football season hasn’t even started yet and Air Force may have already claimed that spot for 2016.
The Falcons announced Sunday they will wear these awesome “tiger fighter” helmets and uniforms that pay homage to nose art painted on World War II P-40 fighter planes, most notably for the Flying Tigers squadron as mentioned by Knowlton.
The look will be titled “Legacy Series Sharktooth” and will be worn for their Sept. 10 game against Georgia State.
