Ben Roethlisberger Is Very Salty The Steelers Drafted Mason Rudolph In The Third Round

Ben Roethlisberger is pissed off the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to draft a quarterback in third round of last month’s NFL Draft.

The Steelers selected Oklahoma St. QB Mason Rudolph with the 76th overall pick, one year after using the 135th overall pick on Tennessee QB Josh Hobbs.

Here’s what the future Hall of Famer had to say about the situation during a recent appearance on Pittsburgh’s 93.7 The Fan:

“I was surprised when they took a quarterback because I thought that maybe in the third round, you know you can get some really good football players that can help this team now,” Roethlisberger said. “Nothing against Mason; I think he’s a great football player. I don’t know him personally, but I’m sure he’s a great kid. I just don’t know how backing up or being a third [string] — well, who knows where he’s going to fall on the depth chart — helps us win now.”

Roethlisberger’s stance on this seems odd, considering Ben contemplated with retirement last season, and only committed to playing in 2018 right before the Draft.

Can he really blame the Steelers for thinking about the future?
