BREAKING: Green Bay Packers Fire Head Coach Mike McCarthy

A loss to the 2-8 Arizona Cardinals will do it to ya…

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy was fired Sunday after yet another disappointing performance, a move that seems like has been in the works for the entire season.

“The 2018 season has not lived up to the expectations and standards of the Green Bay Packers,” the team noted in the release announcing the change. “As a result, I made the difficult decision to relieve Mike McCarthy of his role as head coach, effective immediately.

According to Adam Schefter, McCarthy was not expecting to be let go.

McCarthy is out after 13 seasons with the team, posting a 125-77-2 record and bringing the Lombardi Trophy home once during his tenure.
