TAMPA, Fla. – Another day, another struggle for Robert Aguayo.

The kicker who the Tampa Bay Bucs traded up to the second round in this year’s NFL draft to get made headlines Monday when it was brought to light that has had sought mental help to attempt to get out of his slump of missing kicks.

That apparently hasn’t worked yet.

During Tuesday’s joint practice with the Cleveland Browns (which makes it even worse), Aguayo missed 3 of his 6 attempts, and was booed off the field by his own fans

According to those who where there, he first missed on his first attempt from 35 yards out. After two makes, he shanked three straight from 45 yards.

“He’s struggling,” coach Dirk Koetter said after practice. “He’s struggling a little bit right now. He’s gotta work his way through it.”

Through two preseason games, he’s missed two field goals and an extra point. Compare that to his college career kick total of 198-for-198 on extra points only 9 missed field goals in 3 years and you can see why the disconnect has his coaches and fans scratching their heads, or in this case booing.

“We’ve talked to him. He knows what he has to do. He’s working through it,” said Koetter, directing all questions about possibly bringing in another kicker to general manager Jason Licht. “I wouldn’t think that’s an option, but that would be a question for Jason.”

Bucs fans seemingly mockingly cheered a littel extra when Aguayo finally chipped one in.
