Did Cam Newton Walk Out On The Media Because Of What Chris Harris Was Saying?

Did Denver’s Chris Harris play a role in Newton walking out on media? – ESPN Video

Following the Panthers’ Super Bowl 50 loss to the Denver Broncos, Cam Newton appeared to be listening to Broncos CB Chris Harris’ comments before saying, “I’m done” and walking out on the media.

Cam Newton has faced a lot of heat from his critics and the media for walking out after a three minute media session but one can imagine the comments by Chris Harris could have hit a nerve with Cam Newton and instead of responding back to Harris who seemed to have been sitting behind the black curtain.

You could hear Harris saying:

“Load the box, force y’all to throw the ball. Can you throw the football? That was the game plan.”

Newton, as you can see in the video was looking in that direction and clearly had his attention to Harris abruptly got up and exited the press conference. Whether or not Harris’ comments pushed Newton into leaving is something only he can answer.

But even before Harris’ spoke, Cam was giving short answers to questions by the media and didn’t seem to be in the talking mood.

Panthers wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery told ESPN’s David Newton, “He [Cam Newton] put in a lot of work. … Had a heck of a year.”
