Chargers Told Phillip Rivers, Antonio Gates They Aren’t Allowed To Attend LaDainian Tomlinson’s HOF Ceremony

A Hall Of Fame induction ceremony is supposed to be a gathering of family, friends, fans and all played a role to get a player to the place they find themselves at during that moment.

LaDainian Tomlinson is being enshrined into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame Saturday, and when his bust is revealed, two of his friends and biggest fans, former teammates Phillip Rivers and Antonio Gates may not be there to see it, per the request of the LA Chargers.

Sporting News’ Alex Marvez is reporting that new Chargers coach Anthony Lynn told the team’s long-time quarterback Philip Rivers and long-time tight end Antonio Gates, that they are required to attend the Chargers’ training camp practice at their new home field, the StubHub Center, no matter the special occasion for their former teammate.

Tomlinson, Rivers and Gates culminated as one the NFL’s most exciting trio’s in the late 2000’s.

Marvez mentioned Gates may go against coaches orders and travel to Canton regardless.
