Cleveland Browns Release WR Josh Gordon

The Cleveland Browns announced Josh Gordon would miss Sunday’s game with the team against the Saints Saturday due to a hamstring injury. Hours later, the Browns shockingly announced they’ll be releasing their star WR.

According to NFL Networks’s Ian Rappoport, Gordon was late getting into the facility Saturday morning. No word yet on if he failed another drug test.

The move comes just one week after the 27-year-old troubled Gordon played against the Steelers in his first game since 2012, catching 3 balls for 17 yards and a touchdown pass.

“For the past six years, the Browns have fully supported and invested in Josh, both personally and professionally and wanted the best for him, but unfortunately we’ve reached a point where we feel it’s best to part ways and move forward,” Browns GM John Dorsey said in a statement after the news. “We wish Josh well.”
