Donald Trump is taking his attack on the NFL to the next level.

At a rally on Tuesday in West Virginia, the President of the United States decided to once again criticize the NFL over anthem protests and throw shots at ESPN for not ‘defending the flag’ when Trump stated that they wouldn’t air the National Anthem on Monday Night Football this year:

We generally have not broadcasted the anthem and I don’t think that will change this year. Our plan going into this year is to not broadcast the anthem,” Pitaro said at the time.

“Again that could change. It’s unpredictable what could happen in the world but as of now, we’re not,” Piatro continued. “We have communicated that back to the [NFL]. They have not asked but as a courtesy and good partners, we have let them know what our plans are.”

To take his fight against the NFL to another level, Trump announced on Wednesday that he is starting a petition to get the Worldwide Leader in Sports to air the playing of the National Anthem, calling the network’s decision “spineless”:

“I’m calling on you to join me in denouncing this SPINELESS surrender to the politically correct liberal mob,” Trump’s petition reads. “I was the first person to sign this petition. Now I need you to follow my lead and be the second.”
