With Eli Manning’s career coming to an end, the New York Giants are already making their plans for the 2019 NFL Draft clear: Find a new franchise quarterback.
The team started their search on Saturday when the sent their front office to Salt Lake City to watch Oregon Ducks QB Justin Herbert take on the Utah Utes.
Here in the press box at Rice-Eccles a bit early…some big names at least on the list for Oregon at Utah including…
NY Giants GM Dave Gettleman
Miami Dolphins EVP Mike Tannebaum

Looks like Dave Gettleman made it to Salt Lake City along with Kevin Abrams.
Justin Herbert out here as well. Should start getting warm soon. pic.twitter.com/NzG6trt54z

The Giants who bypassed a quarterback in the 2018 Draft, opting to select Penn State RB Saquon Barkley are making their feelings felt on Herbert, who has yet to make any sort of announcement on his future.
But despite that, the Giants seem to be making their feelings felt about the Oregon QB:
And your final shot of pregame. Giants brass watching Herbert get warmed up with the QB’s. About 45 minutes to kick here in Salt Lake City. pic.twitter.com/DymEDEMRip

Scouts in front of me have been roaming the sidelines for most of pregame. Giants Personnel hasn’t moved off Herbert’s side at all. Pretty clear who they’re here for.

The Giants currently sit at 1-7 and would have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 Draft if the season ends today.
