Hawaii Used A Random Player Dressed Up As Their QB To Trick Wyoming Into Thinking He Wasn’t Injured

Hawaii is trying to play smarter, not harder.

In attempt to keep Wyoming guessing who was going to be Hawaii’s starting quarterback with QB1 Cole McDonald injured, Hawaii sent out a decoy player dressed as McDonald to make it appear as if he was dressed and ready to do.

McDonald, the nation’s leading in passing yards, had suffered an undisclosed injury that the team kept secret before kickoff.

There’s not telling if the scheme worked, but Hawaii’s backup freshman QB Chevan Cordeiro managed a 17-13 win for the Rainbows in McDonal’s absence.
