We assumed the entire city of Minneapolis was rooting hard for the Vikings to win the NFC Championship Game and advance to Super Bowl LII in their home stadium but that wasn’t the case.
Many hotels near US Bank Stadium were actually rooting for the Vikings to lose the NFC Championship Game to the Eagles.
Why?
Well, it would give them an opportunity to raise prices on hotel rooms during the week of the Super Bowl because there is going to be two fanbases traveling to the twin cities for the big game instead of just one:
One of the few in Minnesota rooting against the Vikings? Hotels. Like this Hampton Inn in downtown St. Paul that is asking $800 a night. Losing a fan group that needs to stay over would be detrimental. pic.twitter.com/UBxGhNEZWt

This is the Ramada Inn in Golden Valley, Minn, located 4.3 miles from Minneapolis city center.
