NEW ORLEANS, LA – The National Football League has lost another member of the NFL family. Former long-time New Orleans Saint’s defensive end Will Smith was gunned down in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District on Saturday night after a traffic collision turned violent.

According to New Orleans police, the 34-year-old was shot after an argument with the driver of a Hummer H2 that ran into the back of his Mercedes G63 SUV, causing him to strike another vehicle in front of him.

Both Smith and his wife Raquel were shot multiple times by the gunman, hitting her twice in the leg. She was taken to the hospital while Smith wouldn’t make it, being pronounced dead on the scene.
