MLB Will Allow Players To Wear XFL-Style Jerseys For One Weekend

In a likely effort to bring some life into the usual stagnant stretch of the Major League Baseball season that is the summer months, the MLB will reportedly relax it’s uniform policies for a weekend and allow its players to wear XFl-style jerseys featuring nicknames on the back.

Per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, “Players Weekend,” as it’s being dubbed, will take place on August 25-27th of this year.

Players will have the option to wear a jersey with a nickname, of course with “inappropriate or offensive” not being allowed.

Each jersey will have a patch where a player can display a name of an individual or organization that was instrumental to their success.

Players will also be able to wear other usually disallowed attire including off-team colored cleats, batting gloves, wristbands, sleeves and masks.
