Urban Meyer Gets Whacked In The Face By A Referee, Then Gets Flagged For It

Ohio State is playing on the road at Wisconsin this Saturday and with the team down after the first quarter, Urban Meyer’s night was going from bad to worse.

A referee on Ohio State’s sideline throws his arm into a winding motion (signaled for the clock to begin running after a play was called dead) whacking the coach in the face.

 

 

Meyer was then slapped (pun intended) hit with a 15-yard penalty. According to the NCAA football rulebook, “physical interference with an official is a foul charged to the team for unsportsmanlike conduct.”

No player or coach is technically allowed to venture onto the this white line that borders each sideline, though it it rarely ever called and when it is, it tends to result in a sideline warning.

As expected, the internet had some fun with the situation:
