Panthers QB Cam Newton Buys Thanksgiving Dinner For 1,200 Underprivileged Kids

Cam Newton is known for giving footballs away to kids after touchdowns, but this Thanksgiving, he’s giving away something even more special.

The Carolina Panthers quarterback will continue his annual tradition of “Cam’s Thanksgiving Jam” where he provides a turkey dinner for underprivileged kids who likely wouldn’t have one otherwise.

Newton has been holding the event for 7 straight years, upping last Thanksgiving by 400 kids.

In addition to the food (which Newton helps serve to kids), there will be plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy including games, music, face painting, and balloon artists.

“I vowed to myself that if I get put in my position—there’s never enough things that you can do for a community. So nights like tonight are important to me and will forever be important to me,” Newton said at last year’s Jam. “For this to be important to me and knowing what I mean to so many people in Charlotte, I just want to do right by them. More than just winning football games, but making myself available as a servant.”
