Reno, NV. Police Officer Mocks Colin Kaepernick With Halloween Costume

Colin Kaepernick’s story is well known by now.

He’s too good to not have a spot on an NFL roster but his kneeling during the national anthem to bring awareness to social and racial injustices in America is the reason he’s no longer on an NFL roster.

He’s been the talk of the town and now his actions are being mocked on Halloween.

Officer Antonio Guiterrez thought it would be a good idea to dress up as Colin Kaepernick with a sign reading: “will kneel for food.”

The outrage was so strong, it forced University of Nevada, Reno Police Chief Adam Garcia to issue an apology on behalf of the officer:

“For those who have seen the Halloween costume of one of our officers apparently mocking a citizen who has chosen to take advantage of his constitutional right to protest, I offer my sincere apologies.”

“Members of our profession are held to a higher standard and denigrating another — on or off duty — is insensitive for its lack of respect and lack of understanding on how others may negatively view their actions and may be impacted.”

Colin Kaepernick attended the University of Nevada before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2011.
