REPORT: Adrian Peterson Leaning Towards Signing With Either Seahawks Or Raiders

THUMB

Just a day after Patriots fans got their hopes up with reports that Adrian Peterson would consider taking a pay cut to play for New England next season, a new report is suggesting the running back is leaning toward signing with either the Raiders or Seahawks.

Citing a source close to the free-agent, NFL Network’s Stacey Dales reported on Tuesday that the 31-year-old Peterson’s “desirable landing spots” are Oakland and Seattle. Dales also noted that Peterson’s camp “will know more later tonight.”

Peterson has been linked to the Raiders over the past week, with ESPN’s Josina Anderson reporting on March 3 that the Silver and Black had caught the attention of the seven-time Pro Bowler.

The 31-year-old was also connected to the New England Patriots, but NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday “there is nothing going on” between the two sides two days out from the start of the new league year (h/t NFL.com’s Chris Wesseling).

In regard to the Raiders, Peterson could fill in the need for a running back if impending free agent Latavius Murray leaves for another team. Peterson would move from one of the worst offensive lines in football to one of the two best.
