Former Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers’ offensive lineman Jonathan Martin has checked himself in a mental health facility after posting a disturbing image on social media, threatening to shoot up a California high school.
Martin was detained by Los Angeles police after posting a photo of a shotgun and shell casings. The Instagram post included threatening comments directed towards the Dolphins and Harvard Westlake High School, the high school Martin attended before going to Stanford:
It is unknown whether Martin was forced to undergo an involuntary mental examination under the Baker Act or if he voluntarily checked himself in for treatment.
One thing is clear, Martin clearly needs some help.
