REPORT: Giants Not Expected To Trade WR Odell Beckham Jr.

After weeks of speculation and trade scenarios, it seems like the New York Giants came to their senses.

Back in April at the NFL owner meetings, Giants owner John Mara seemed noncommittal to super star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. being on the roster in 2018. These comments led to many speculation and multiple rumors indicating OBJ would be shipped out of the Big Apple.

But according to SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano, it’s “highly unlikely” the Giants trade Beckham:

Would the Giants really trade him? It’s hard to imagine they would. And it remains “highly unlikely,” according to a highly placed team source. No one can rule out the possibility that they’d be blown away with an offer they can’t refuse. But trading him – at least for now – is clearly not something they want to do.

If you’ve been following the New York Giants over the last four years, you know that the majority of their offensive success was because of Odell Beckham, as his emergence in 2014 was a huge reason why the Giants offense was anything more than a shell of itself:

While a trade might not happen, it does seem like these trade rumors won’t end until the Giants either commit long term to their controversial wide out if they indeed trade him away.
