REPORT: Only 1 Or 2 Eagles Players Were Planning To Attend White House Visit Before Cancellation

Tuesday afternoon was slated for the Philadelphia Eagles to visit the White House in the annual ceremony celebrating the Super Bowl champion. Only problem? The President un-inited the Super Bowl champion.

President Trump, canceled the event before it could happen and instead held a show of patriotism dubbed the “Celebration of America.”

The White House and Trump made it known that the event was canceled due to the inability for the Eagles to bring their full team along with the majority of the team’s stance on the protest surrounding the National Anthem.

New information is revealing that President Trump may have canceled the event after being informed that only one or two players would be attending, one of which was Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles.

That report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport aligns with that of Politico’s Annie Karni,  who was told by a White House official that only two or three players, along with owner Jeff Lurie and Swoop, the team’s mascot would be attending.

In what was called a “political stunt” by the President during the Celebration of America, the Eagles held a light practice back in Philadelphia instead.
