Steelers Players Just Ripped Le’Veon Bell: “Here’s A Guy Who Doesn’t Give A Damn”

There’s an unwritten rule in football that you never talk about another teammate’s business situation.

But those rules seem to not apply to the players in Pittsburgh.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steelers veteran offensive lineman Ramon Foster and Maurkice Pouncey threw some harsh jabs at Bell for his contiuned holdout as the Steelers prepare for Week 1:

“What do you do?” Foster said. “Here’s a guy who doesn’t give a damn, I guess so we’ll treat it as such. I just hate it came to this. . . .

“He’s making seven times what I make twice as much as [left tackle] Al [Villanueva] is making and we’re the guys who do it for him.”

Bell has yet to sign his franchise tag, his agent spoke about it as a guest on Sirius XM NFL and indicated that they are worried about his workload and the effect it could have on his long-term value.

Steelers center Maurkice Pouncy had this to say on the matter:

“The business part, I get it, All of us at some point have been hurt in that situation. Now that it’s game day, we have a game this Sunday, now we’re all the way into the game-plan as of Wednesday’s practice and you’re still not here? It’s bigger than just business.”

Another veteran, Cam Heyward had this to say about the matter:

Bell’s future with the Steelers seem to be coming to an end after this season but after the latest jabs from his offensive lineman, could the end of the Bell tenure in Pittsburgh be during the season?
