This Pretty Much Sums Up How Horrible The New Roughing The Passer Rule Is

The new NFL rules in regards to hitting the quarterback is not only horrible but it’s widely inconsistent. During tonight’s Colts-Patriots game in Foxboro, there were two instances that proved that.

In the first quarter, Andrew Luck was body slammed to the ground by multiple Patriots defenders, referees kept the flags in their pockets. But then in the second quarter, Patriots QB Tom Brady was tapped on the helmet and flags came out.

Both probably shouldn’t have been flagged, but if you’re going to call one, which one makes more sense?

C’mon, fix this mess, NFL!
