Late Saturday night, popular Tony Stewart was racing a Sprint Series dirt-trace race at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in NY when 20 year old Kevin Ward Jr. exited his car after spinning out on lap 14 of the 25 lap race and was struck by Stewart when he circled back around the track.
There are no indications whatsoever that this had any premeditated intention to it at all, and Stweart says he is “deeply upset” and according to police was “visibly shaken.” No charges plan to be filed against Stewart.
