Victor Cruz Returns To The Field For The First Time Since Oct. 2014 vs Jets

Jets

Victor Cruz has is one of the greatest sports stories of recent history.

Cruz, who was an undrafted free agent that signed with the Giants, who happen to to play right down the street from his home town of Patterson, New Jersey, came onto the scene in a 2010 preseason game vs New York Jets where he caught three touchdown passes and left Jets coach Rex Ryan wondering “Who is #3”

Following that game, Cruz suffered a season ending injury in 2010 but returned in 2011 to help the Giants win Super Bowl 46. Cruz shattered numerous franchise records and became a house hold name in the NY/NJ area.

In October of 2014, Cruz suffered a devastating knee injury against the Philadelphia Eagles and has yet to return to the field since then.

But, as he stated earlier this week, he’s “ready.”

Victor Cruz will return to the field for the first time since that injury and face the same team that he played when he first showcased his talents to the world, the New York Jets.

Ironically, Cruz’s biggest play in his career also came vs the Jets in 2011, scoring a 99-yard touchdown that helped the Giants get on a roll, that helped the Giants win a Super Bowl.

The Giants, who know have another stud wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, are hoping Cruz can light a spark and help the team return to it’s glory days.

But it all starts (again) today for Cruz.

In honor of his return to the field, we remember he’s amazing preseason debut in 2010:
