  2. Football and basketball athletes today are given special treatment from age 10 and up and it has created grown adults who take no responsibility for their actions and think they can do and say what they want and have no consequences. The modern athlete is all about “me” not the team.

I disagree, the pro athlete doesn’t get to where he is by being lazy. These guys spend as much time working out and practicing their craft throughout their lives as the rest of us do going to our day jobs from their freshman year in college u till they retire from the game.

    I’ll also say the NFL player is undervalued based upon the revenue he brings to the league and team. It’s the most violent sport in the world – other than fighting – and they’re contracts aren’t guaranteed unlike basketball and baseball.
