Three years ago, Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens were celebrating their Super Bowl win over the 49ers in Super Bowl 48, a game that will likely be remeber for it’s power outage rather than the winner and loser.

49ers fan Eddie Roberson decided shortly after the Ravens took the Lombardi trophy, that it would be easier to kill his friend rather than simply pay him for the money he owed.

“NJ.com reports Newark resident Eddie Roberson was sentenced Friday for the killing of Bloomfield resident Talif Crowley over a bet on the 2013 Super Bowl.

Prosecutors say Roberson refused to be Crowley after losing the bet when the San Francisco 49ers lost to the Baltimore Ravens, stating that his Niners were “cheated” in their 34-31 loss.

He shot Crowley six times on a street in Newark two days after the game during a confrontation to avoid paying the bet. He was sentenced to 75 years, he must serve nearly 64 years before becoming eligible for parole.
