We posted this as an April Fools joke about a week back, but this is no joke people.
As of Thursday afternoon, ESPN’s Jeff Legwold reportedly that the Denver Broncos and head coach Gary Kubiak have talked with Johnny Manziel about his possible fit at QB on their roster.
Though as of now, the Broncos have shown no signs that they will sign Johnny Manziel according to Mike Klis of 9NEWS. Even though head coach Gary Kubiak reached out to Manziel’s camp about a month ago, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com also hears that team currently has no intention of signing him.

Why Manziel? According to Pro Football Rumors, one connection my be the linage. Kubiak and Manziel are both Texas A&M alums and have a relationship stemming from that commonality, Klis notes (on Twitter). The Broncos head coach reached out to Manziel sometime after his release from the Browns, but it doesn’t sound like there were substantive conversations after that point.
Earlier this year as we all know, Manziel was cut by his former team the Browns, who drafted the QB two years previous. Next month, Manziel was dropped by his agent and needed to seek a new one, eventually bringing the infamous Drew Rosenhaus on board.
Days later, Rosenhaus claimed that there were teams interested in his new client – no surprise there.
After non-stop partying this offseason, at this point the only place Johnny Manziel seems to fit perfectly is in a bar.
