CHARLOTTE, NC – One of the more memorable games this past NFL season came when the undefeated Panthers visited the G-Men in East Rutherford.

Josh Norman had risen to the best shutdown cornerback in the league and Odell Beckham was the best young receiver in the NFL, with confidence through the roof. Norman was going to put him in his place and Beckham was going to show Norman that he was a noobie on the superstar scene, and boy did the tension boil over when the ball left the tee.

The two got in it snap after snap, drawing numerous personal fouls until the point where the two were launching the crown of their helmets into the ear hold of the other, so much so, that Beckham was handed down a 1-game suspension.

Norman seemed to be a centerpiece to the gritty defense in Charlotte, but that all was not for long, as Carolina revoked the franchise tag on the corner. The Panthers did not want to pay to keep Norman in Charlotte, over what is a reported 2 million dollars.

Well, as of Thursday that feisty relationship just got a bit more awkward. ESPN’s Thisis Satire reported today that Josh Norman and the New York Giants had come to terms on a deal, reportedly worth $32 million over two years.

Norman told the media, “Now I can kick his [Odell’s] ass in practice every day instead of just once a year. It was an obvious decision for me.”

The Giants should be in a good position now having addressed the lackluster defense that kept the team out of the playoffs last season.
