Carson Wentz Booed By Eagles Fans Minutes After Arriving In Philly

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Eagles fans are notorious for being some of the most ruthless fans in the NFL, throwing eggs and batteries at opposing teams bushes, cursing out both other team’s and their own players, and most notably, booing more than they spend time clapping.

What a better warm welcome to the city of brotherly love than a few boos moments after arriving in his new home town.

After landing in Philadelphia from Chicago, the newest Eagles QB and 2nd overall pick was swarmed by a few unforgiving fans looking for autographs. Though continuing to ask even after being told to back off by team security, they kept pushing, going as far as calling Wentz a “prick” and booing him after getting into the transport vehicle.

CBS 3 Philly Sports Director Don Bell captured the video: (Fast-forward to 2:20 for the booing)

Though Wentz was taken #2 overall, he isn’t expected to start Week 1, yet will surely get his chance after whomever Philadelphia’s starting quarterback to start the season is gets booed off the field.

  1. First off, trying to group this as all Eagles fans booing him is kinda dumb. It’s a couple of guys trying to get his autograph so they can make a quick buck. Second, the dude just got off the plane he probably has had a couple of hours to sleep and he just wants to get settled. Third, the Eagles associate that he is following usually keeps the player moving, you can see this in numerous videos when new players come to Philly. Don’t try to stereotype this as all Eagles fans “already” booing Wentz.
Sincerly, An Eagles fan (who just bought a Wentz shirt)
