Marshawn Lynch Reiterates That He’s Retired From Football In Sports Illustrated, 60 Minute Interview

Marshawn Lynch is retired from football and he reminded Sports Illustrated and 60 Minutes correspondent Jon Wertheim on multiple occasions during an interview that will air Tuesday.

“I’m retired. Is that good enough? Which camera do you want me to look into? This one? I’m done,”

Marshawn Lynch was the 12th overall pick in the 2007 Draft by the Buffalo Bills, after a rough start to his career in Buffalo, Lynch was traded to Seattle where Beast Mode took off. he spent roughly six of his nine seasons with the Seahawks, rushing for 9,112 yards and 74 touchdowns.

When Wertheim brought up the city of Oakland and how the Raiders need a veteran running back, Lynch laughed and said, “No, I’m done. I enjoyed my time playing, now it’s time to watch my cousins do their thing.”

Lynch who’s yet to file his retirement papers with the NFL, announced on his twitter account that he’s retiring with this cryptic tweet:

Seattle also isn’t trying to talk Lynch out of retirement, as the the team seems inclined to go with second year running back Thomas Rawls who rushed for 830 yards last season in Lynch’s absence. Seattle also drafted two running backs in the 2016 Draft: C.J. Prosise at No. 90 overall and Alex Collins at No. 171 overall.

But Doug Hendrickson, Lynch’s agent, isn’t ready to close the book on Lynch’s career:

“With Marshawn, I’ll never say never, I think if you could write the perfect story as far as the last year of his career, if he played, come back to Oakland, it makes sense, right? But the reality is, look, he told me he’s done.”

Time will tell if Beast Mode is ready to move on from football but one thing is for sure, expect the unexpected when dealing with Lynch.

Here are some behind the scenes clips from should be an interesting and rare interview with the authentic Marshawn Lynch:
