Colin Kaepernick Donated Massive Sneaker Collection To Bay Area Homeless Shelters

Colin Kaepernick has been the center of a lot of attention this season. He first drew attention when he decided to not to stand during the national anthem prior to the start of an NFL preseason game; A silent protest that continued to throughout the NFL season.

Kaepernick has been heavily scrutinized for not voting and of this fashion attire, but regardless of what you think of him, he’s making a difference in the community. Kaepernick pledged to donated $100,000 per month ($1 million in total) to various charities and more recently he decided to donate his massive sneaker collection to homeless shelters in San Francisco:

Kaepernick was also voted as the 2016 recipient of the Len Eshmont Award, an honor bestowed on the 49er who best exemplifies the inspirational and courageous play of Eshmont, a member of the original 1946 team.
