Newly signed Minnesota Vikings running back Latavius Murray is leaving the No. 28 jersey in Oakland.

Murray, who also wore No. 28 during his collegiate career at Central Florida says he wore the number to pay respect to former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Fred Taylor.

After Taylor retired, Murray said it was Adrian Peterson who inspired him to keep the number.

Murray posted this message on his Instagram account:

Very respectful and classy message from Latavius Murray to Vikings fans and Adrian Peterson.
