The Jimmy V Award For Perseverance is always an emotional moment at the ESPY Award show.
Last year, Craig Sager delivered an incredible speech months before his death after a long battle with leukemia.
This year’s award went to 15-year old New Orleans Saints superfan Jarrius Robertson.
Robertson is battling a chronic liver disease called billiary atresia, which has affected his growth and has required multiple liver transplants.
Throughout his battle with the disease, Robertson has been surrounded and embraced by athletes of different ends of the spectrum. His colorful personality drew attention at the NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans.
He’s also had a presence with the Saints, Pelicans, LSU Football and WWE over the years. When it came time to give his speech on Wednesday night, Robertson exceeded all exceptions yet again.
