After nine years in prison for his role in a Las Vegas armed robbery, O.J. Simpson has been granted parole by a group of four Nevada commissioners following a 30 minute deliberation.

Set to be released as as early as the first of October, the 70-year-old seemed confident and jovial at his hearing Thursday, saying he was humbled by his time spent behind bars.
Simpson was placed behind those bars for a robbery gone wrong in 2008, when Simpson led a group of men into a hotel casino to steal sports memorabilia, which ironically was his own, at gunpoint.
