Cowboys Pass On Kaepernick Too, Sign QB Luke McCown (5 INT, 0 TD In Last 8 Years)

Another day, another team in need of a backup quarterback has passed on Colin Kaepernick. Friday night, the Dallas Cowboys signed quarterback Luke McCown to a one-year deal.

The 36-year-old was a 4th-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2004, playing 62 games in his career (10 starts) for five different teams. McCown lasted played in a game in 2015 and has thrown 8 interceptions with 0 touchdowns since 2009.

McCown was released by the New Orleans Saints after signing Chase Daniel.

He will serve as a backup for Dak Prescott, with one of the previous backups, Zac Dysert suffering a herniated disc in his back last week. Kellen Moore and undrafted rookie Cooper Rush fill out the rest of the QB depth chart.
