LaVar Ball Says He Was A Better Tight End Than Rob Gronkowski

During the same day where LaVar Ball said he could beat Michael Jordan with one arm, he’s coming in hot with another take – this time about football.

The no-name turned media magnet celebrity says he was a better tight end than Rob Gronkowski, yes, perhaps the greatest tight end to ever live.

Ball made the statement on the Really Big Show on ESPN 850 AM Cleveland, saying “back in my heyday” he was a better player than the two-time Super Bowl winner, four-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro selection.

Ball did in fact play football, tight end too, for the London Monarchs, saying he was—”too fast, too strong” and a better athlete than Gronk.

He did actually make it to the NFL after college, signing with the New York Jets as a free agent. Obviously, that career didn’t last long.

Former Jet Marvin Williams recalled his time with Ball when they were both on the team, saying, “I remember Ball very well. He was a very athletic guy and raw. I remember him very well because he played only one year of college football. I remember a very confident guy and, yes, he voiced his opinion and was cocky, but overall seemed like a great guy.”
