Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cut 2016 2nd-Round Pick Kicker Roberto Aquayo

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted a kicker in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL Draft, one of the highest pick for a kicker ever. Even worse – they traded two picks to get him.

One year later, it’s clear that experiment was a failure.

The Bucs cut Roberto Aquayo Saturday after he missed two field goals in the team’s first preseason game.

Roberto was the most accurate kicker in college football history during his time at Florida State University, but but only kicked 71% during his rookie season in the NFL.

No word yet on if Aquayo missed the door on his way out of the Bucs’ facility.
