JJ Watt for President!

A little over a week ago, Houston Texans defensive end JJ Watt began an online fundraiser campaign aimed at raising money for the people of Houston as they dealt with the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.

Watt’s initial challenge to his social media following was to raise $200,000. When they blew past that in a matter of hours, Watt raised the stakes to $1 million.

When they blew past that, Watt raised $10 million.

Pretty soon, all sorts of celebrities were chipping including rapper Drake, who donated $200,000. Miley Cyrus donated $500,000. Eventually Watt’s Hurricane Harvey relief fund blew past the $10 million mark.

So he upped the goal to $20 million.

On Tuesday, JJ Watt announced that they’ve reached that goal:

What started as a $200,000 goal raised north of $20 million. Simply amazing work by JJ Watt.
