Canelo vs GGG Super Fight Ends In A Controversial Draw

After all the hype surrounding what many were calling the first actual super fight of the year, the outcome is a split draw through 12 rounds.

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin stepped into the ring Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for a middleweight bout that the judges scored 118-110 (Canelo), 115-113 (GGG) and 114-114.

Adalaide Byrd’s scorecard raised eyebrows when it was revealed that he had scored it 118-110 for Alvarez.

Post fight, HBO’s Max Kellerman asked both boxers if they’d like a rematch, to which both responded with yeses. “Yes, of course,” said Alvarez. Obviously, yes. if the people want it, yes.” Golovkin said, “Of course I want a rematch. I wanted a fight. I want a true fight.”
