Cam Newton Makes Sexist Comments Towards Female Reporter During Press Conference

Cam Newton is usually making headlines during press conferences for his choice of eccentric outfits, but today, it’s for all the wrong reasons.

The Panthers quarterback was asked a question by The Charlotte Observer’s Jourdan Rodrigue, and got a response from Newton saying it was “funny hearing female talk about routes.”

With Newton coming off his best game of the season in a win over the Patriots at home, this might take some attention away from the huge step forward for the Panthers this week during practice.

The team has released a statement including an apology, although an NFL official said Newton did not apologize.
