Achilles injuries are gruesome enough said, but watching them in slow motion is even worse.
When the achilles ruptures, the tendon recoils back up the calf, with all the pressure it’s been under the lifespan of the player being released in one moment.
During Sunday Night Football, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley came down on one foot from jumping to recover an onside kick attempt, snapping his achilles. NBC cameras caught the injury in slo-mo.
