Carolina Panthers Running Backs Are Currently Averaging 2.769 INCHES Per Carry

The Carolina Panthers tried their best at attempting to beat the Eagles behind the arm of Cam Newton through the air Thursday Night which ultimately ended up being their downfall. But when you’re averaging what the Panthers are averaging per carry on the ground, you’d understand why.

By that metric, if the Panthers ran the ball without throwing it, it would take the offense 130 plays to reach a first down.

Against the Eagles, the Panthers running backs combined for a total of 13 carries for a whopping one yard, with quarterback Cam Newton racking up 71 times that number, with 71 of the teams 80 rushing yards.
