With 8:31 to go in the fourth quarter, a 4-yard Austin Seferian-Jenkins touchdown seemed all but to secure a unforeseen win for the Jets over the Patriots. Until it was overturned, that is.
Upon review, officials decided that Seferian-Jenkins, who momentarily bobbled the football en route to the end zone, never fully regained possession before coming to the ground. The caveat is exactly where he fumbled it, into the end zone and out-of-bounds, a touchback for the other team, per NFL rules.
Jets fans reacted accordingly.
