If you look up ‘hypocrisy’ in the dictionary, this picture should be under it.
During yesterday’s AFC East showdown in East Rutherford, NJ. between the New England Patriots and New York Jets, many Jets fans were sitting at the edge of their seats as the Pats and Jets went down to the wire in another classic.
A game that was filled with excitement and controversy ended with a Patriots, 24-17 win.
Well, during the game, A Jets fan was spotted with a “I Stand for the National Anthem” shirt which perfectly fits the hypocrisy the fan portrayed as he was photographed actually sitting on an American Flag:
Deadspin spoke with the fan that caught this hypocritical moment:
“Basically, me and my friend were walking around the stadium sometime during the 3rd quarter. There is a huge tv screen by the food carts right inside the stadium where people gather to watch. We went over there to check it out and we saw him spread the flag out and sit down.
I thought it was too ironic so I snagged a picture. He sat on it for a few minutes before leaving.”
A true American, I guess.
Also, let’s not ignore the biggest travesty here, the fact that this man is drinking beer with a straw.
