Though it’s plausible to make a case that Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL, yes, including Tom Brady, it’s even more reasonable to say he is the single most valuable player in the league.
That player is now done for at least the next 6-8 games for the Packers, who will go with backup QB Brett Hundley, who’s job it is to essentially tread water until Rodgers is hopefully able to return this season for the playoffs.
Rodgers’ absence will effect more than just his team though. Prices for tickets to Packers games have dropped by over 50% according to Ticket King. This does not factor in the season tickets already paid for in regard to the team’s home games.
“A lot of people they’re just saying they can’t make it to the game now, I am sure there’s some people that don’t want to go to the game because of what happened,” said Travis Loftus, Manager at Ticket Kind in Green Bay.
Not only do ticket prices get affected, so will hotel sales in Green Bay.
“We’ve been spoiled a little bit but without a Packer game in January, it dramatically affects the budget for the hotel,” said Ron Zellers, General Manager for the Hampton Inn in Ashwaubenon.
