Marshawn Lynch saw his night come to an end early in the second quarter of tonight’s Thursday Night Football Game between the Chiefs and Raiders in Oakland.

Lynch was ejected after he took part in a scuffle on the field after a questionable hit on QB Derek Carr. The Oakland Raiders RB ran onto the field in an effort to protect his quarterback, but ended up putting his hands on an official in the process.

He got penalized and was ejected.

What people don’t know about the situation is that Marcus Peters and Lynch are blood related cousins and Lynch wasn’t coming onto the field to fight, he was rather trying to stop the fight from occurring.

Several NFL players saw what was happening and took to Twitter ind defense of BeastMode, who they say was trying to help calm the situation:

Despite his intentions, Lynch making contact with an official will garner an ejection and upcoming fine regardless.
