Colin Kaepernick’s lawyer Mark Geragos, said on Tuesday tha he expects the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback will be signed within the next 10 days.
During an appearance on The Adam Carolla Show, Geragos explained why he expects Kaepernick to join an NFL roster in that time frame:
“I think within the next 10 days somebody will sign him,” he said. “I think somebody’s gonna sign him. I think the NFL has to come to their senses, and realize every day that goes by just proves the collusion case even more.”
Kaepernick filed a collusion lawsuit against all 32 NFL owners earlier this month after he was unable to get a team to sign him during after his departure from the 49ers.
Back in September, Kaepernick told Shaun King of the Intercept that he was “ready right now” to play and his desire to play football “never stopped.”
Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the 49ers in March and has been hoping to find a new home somewhere but has unable to do so. He generated some interest from the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens but was unable to get a contract offer.
According to Ray Lewis, in September, the Ravens were prepared to sign Kaepernick before his girlfriend sent out a controversial tweet directed at Lewis and Rays owner Steve Biscotti.
Kaepernick is still 29 years old and is very capable of being at the very least, a backup quarterback in the NFL. He spent his first six seasons in San Francisco that included a trip to the Super Bowl in 2012.
